The Story

The Amber Current was born from a quiet unfolding — in the moments between searching and finding, between releasing what no longer fit, and becoming who I was always meant to be.

For a long time I moved through life feeling like I was almost there. Almost aligned. Almost home. I had the tools, the knowledge, the drive — and yet something always felt just slightly out of reach.

It was not until I stopped chasing and started listening that everything shifted.

In the stillness I found clarity. In the clarity I found direction. And in the direction I finally found myself — rooted, warm, and moving forward with a ease I had never known before.

That is what I want for you.

Values

Warmth — Every touchpoint of this brand is built with care, intention, and genuine human warmth.

Honesty —I speak truth gently but without apology.

Depth — I am not interested in the surface. I go where it matters.

Ease — Transformation does not have to hurt. I believe in the gentle current, not the raging river.

Belonging — You are welcome here exactly as you are.

Meet the Practitioner

I have always known there was more. Learning to trust that knowing — that was the work.

I am Courtney. I live in Wilmington, North Carolina, where the salt air and the slow pace of the coast have taught me more about stillness than any book ever could. I have been immersed in energy work for over ten years — as a Reiki practitioner, an Akashic Records reader, and Animal Communicator & Medium — and I can say with complete honesty that this work did not find me by accident.

It found me because I needed it. There were seasons of my life that were defined not by chaos, but by silence.

And I mean the kind of silence that is not peaceful — the kind that sits heavy on your chest at two in the morning when you cannot sleep because something in you knows that the life you are living and the life you are meant for are not quite the same thing yet.

I did not always have the language for it. I just knew.

I knew there was something bigger waiting. Something more aligned, more purposeful, more true to who I actually was beneath everything I had learned to perform and protect and carry. I could feel it the way you feel a word on the tip of your tongue — close enough to sense, just out of reach enough to frustrate.

And for a while, I did not know what to do with that. I stood at crossroads that had no signposts. I sat in uncertainty that had no clear end date. I asked questions that the people around me could not answer, not because they did not love me, but because the answers I was looking for could only come from one place. From within.

So that is where I went. Not all at once. Not dramatically. Bit by bit, layer by layer, I did the work. I looked at the parts of myself I had been avoiding. I sat in the stillness long enough to hear what it was trying to tell me. I faced the obstacles — and there were real ones — not by bulldozing through them but by learning to understand what they were asking me to release.

The energy work was not separate from that journey. It was the thread running through all of it. Reiki taught me that what is deeply held within the mind and body can be gently released. It opened me to believing in something beyond myself — in higher guidance, unseen support, and the presence of Higher Beings. Most of all, Reiki affirmed that the healing I was already experiencing, the truths I was already sensing, and the inner knowing I had been following were real, valid, and natural. The Akashic Records taught me that the things holding me back can be released quickly, easily, and gently when I am truly ready to let them go. Through this work, I found the freedom to let go and trust what was unfolding. Each step invited me to trust the process a little more, and with that trust came a deeper sense of freedom—not because everything changed at once, but because I did.

And somewhere along my path, my teachers stopped being only human.

Brooklyn and Rex came into my life long before I had words for any of this, and they left it long before I was ready to let them go. But grief, I have learned, is not always an ending — sometimes it is simply a change in the language two souls use to speak to each other. Brooklyn and Rex taught me how to listen in a way that had nothing to do with ears. They taught me patience, unconditional presence, and a kind of love that did not need explaining. And even now, in spirit, they have never really left. They still find their way to me — in quiet moments, in unmistakable signs, in a knowing that settles over me when I need it most. They remind me, often, that they are still with me. I talk to them. I listen. They guide me and support me in this work and in my life, and that ongoing connection is what first opened the door to mediumship and animal communication as sacred parts of my practice.

And then came Raleigh and Ren — my living, breathing, four-legged teachers, who arrived not to replace what I had lost, but to deepen what I had already begun to understand. They have shaped this business and this journey in ways I could not have planned for and would not trade for anything. They have taught me about boundaries, about joy that needs no justification, about the wisdom of resting when rest is needed and moving when it is time to move. Being with them every day sharpened my ability to sense what is unspoken — in animals, in people, in myself — and that sensitivity became a doorway into offering animal communication as part of my work, alongside the Reiki, the Akashic Records, and the mediumship that lets me carry messages between this world and the next.

Ren, Raleigh, Brooklyn, and Rex are not a footnote to my story. They are woven directly into the fabric of who I am and how I hold space for others. They taught me that healing does not always come wrapped in human language, that guidance can arrive on four paws just as easily as through meditation, and that love and connection do not end where a physical body does.

And slowly — not overnight, not without effort, not without the occasional very unglamorous falling apart — I found my way through. Moving forward with a sense of ease and purpose that I once would not have believed was available to me.

That is why I built The Amber Current. Not because I have all the answers. But because I know what it feels like to search for them. I know the weight of the in-between. I know the particular exhaustion of being someone who has done the work, who has grown, who is ready — and who simply needs the right space and the right support to take the next step. That is who I am here for.

Not the beginners. Not the ones who need convincing that this work is real. I am here for the ones who already know. The ones who have been on this path long enough to understand that they are ready for something deeper. Those who feel the quiet call of their soul and are ready to honor where it is leading them — and for those who believe the bond they share with their animal companion is sacred, in this life and beyond.

If that is you — and I think it might be, or you would not have read this far — then I am so glad you found your way here.

I have been waiting for you.

Let’s begin.
